Therapy FAQ
Understanding pelvic floor therapy is the first step toward reclaiming your well-being. Here are answers to common questions about our personalized care.
What exactly is pelvic floor therapy?
It is a specialized form of physical therapy that focuses on the muscles, ligaments, and connective tissues of the pelvic area. We use gentle, evidence-based techniques to improve function, reduce pain, and restore your quality of life.
We like to be transparent about payment so you can focus fully on your healing journey. We are an out-of-network provider for all insurance plans, and payment is due at the time of service. This allows us to offer longer, one-on-one sessions and a more individualized approach to your care.
We understand that insurance can feel overwhelming, and we’re here to help. After each visit, we can provide a superbill—an itemized receipt you can submit to your insurance company. If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, you may be eligible for reimbursement.
Please note: It is the patient’s responsibility to contact their insurance provider to confirm out-of-network benefits and to submit the superbill for reimbursement. While we’re happy to provide documentation and guidance, coverage and reimbursement are determined by your individual plan.
Medicare
At this time, we are unable to work with individuals who have Medicare due to current regulations. We understand this may be disappointing and truly appreciate your understanding.
Do you accept my insurance?
Is this care right for me?
If you are experiencing pelvic pain, leakage with activity, postpartum concerns, or discomfort during intimacy, this therapy is designed for you. We help women through all stages of life reclaim their comfort and confidence.
What should I expect during my first session?
Our first meeting is a comprehensive, one-on-one evaluation in the privacy of your home. We'll discuss your history, goals, and perform a gentle assessment to create a tailored healing plan.
Why choose out-of-network care with us?
Personalized, Patient-Centered Care
There are many ways to receive physical therapy, and each model has its benefits. Our out-of-network approach is designed to give you more flexibility and dedicated time so your care can truly be tailored to you. This means:
Longer, Focused Sessions: Unhurried, one-on-one visits where we can take the time to fully listen, evaluate, treat, and educate.
Flexible Scheduling: We decide together how often you need to be seen based on your goals and progress—no preset schedule required.
A Thoughtful Approach to Your Care
Our goal is to make your experience feel supportive, efficient, and worthwhile:
Dedicated 1:1 Time: Every session is spent working directly with your physical therapist, so you always have our full attention.
Focus on Independence: We help you build the tools and confidence to feel better and stay better, often reducing the need for frequent ongoing visits.
Considering Cost
We understand that cost is an important part of your decision. While insurance-based care can involve copays at each visit, these can add up over multiple sessions in a week. In some cases, the total cost of those copays may be similar to a single, longer one-on-one session in our model. Many patients appreciate having fewer visits that are more comprehensive and personalized.
Service & Logistics FAQ
Where do you travel for appointments?
We travel to Egg Harbor City and the surrounding communities within a 20-mile radius. If you're unsure if you're in our range, reach out and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
What do I need to prepare at home?
All you need is a small, quiet space where you feel comfortable. We bring all the necessary equipment, including a portable treatment table if needed. Most patients find a living room or bedroom works perfectly.
How is my privacy handled?
Your privacy is our priority. As a mobile clinic, we follow strict HIPAA guidelines to ensure your health information and sessions remain confidential.
How do scheduling and payment work?
Scheduling is easy via email or phone. Appointment reminders are automatically sent out 48 hours before your visit. We accept most major credit cards, cash, check, and HSA/FSA funds at the time of service.
Do I need a referral to start physical therapy?
No. Since New Jersey is a direct access state, a referral is not required to begin physical therapy. However, some health concerns, especially surgical cases, may require clearance from a physician before you can receive treatment.
Is an internal exam required?
No, an internal exam is never required. We will never ask you to do anything you are uncomfortable with. While these exams can provide valuable information about your condition, they are completely optional. Some patients choose to focus solely on external assessments and techniques.
Should I reschedule if I have my period?
No, there's no need to reschedule. We can proceed with external techniques or continue with your normal treatment plan. We are comfortable continuing as long as you are.
